How to Play Royal Word: The Daily 5-Letter Word Game
Royal Word is a daily word puzzle. There is one secret 5-letter word each day, the same for everyone, and you have six guesses to find it.
How it works
- Type any real 5-letter word and press Enter.
- 🟩 Green means the letter is in the word and in the right spot.
- 🟨 Yellow means the letter is in the word but in a different spot.
- ⬜ Gray means the letter is not in the word (or not as many times as you used it).
- Use the clues to make a better guess each time. The keyboard shows which letters you've already tried.
Tips
- Start with common letters. Words with several vowels and common consonants, such as CRANE, SLATE or AUDIO, reveal a lot on the first guess.
- Don't reuse gray letters. Every guess should test new letters until you're close.
- Move yellow letters. A yellow letter is in the word, but not where you put it.
- Remember double letters. Words like APPLE or SHEEP repeat letters.
- Think about endings. Many words end in common patterns such as -ER, -ED, -LY or -CH.
Points
Solving the daily word earns 2 points, or 3 points if you find it in three guesses or fewer. Share your colored result grid with friends without spoiling the answer. A new word arrives every day.
